to see the schedule of classes, and/or enroll in a class, click here There are, often, classes listed on the schedule that are not covered, below, such as Herding, Rally, Agility, therapy dog, and more. These classes are held less frequently than the ones below, and I am still creating pages for them, so take a look at the schedule and see if you can find what you're looking for. Most classes are 6 weekly sessions of an hour each.
Puppy Preschool Page
puppy preschool 10-16 weeks $150.00
For puppies 10 to 16 weeks at the
beginning of class. Learn how to deal with "nipping", "mouthing",
"biting", crate training hows and whys, why your puppy goes CRAZY 4
times a day, what to expect in housebreaking, teach Sit, Down, Stay,
tricks, Trade, and more. This class will help you know what to expect
as your puppy grows and how to deal with what comes up. LOTS of Q and A
time, off leash puppy play, socializing and how to settle an
overexcited pup. Bring the family, but children should be old enough to
pay attention through the hour.
Adolescents 4-8 months old page
For issues unique to doggie-early teens from
scoping out your kitchen counters and stealing food off of tables, to
jumping on people and pulling on the leash, making walks a drag... Off
leash play and teaching them to come when called, even if they're
"busy" with something else!
Canine Good Citizen class and test
the above link will take you to the AKC website for info re. the Canine Good Citizen program; for my take on the class, click here. (7 weeks)
This class is to prepare for and
take (and hopefully pass!) the American Kennel Club's test. The test is
10 items including walking politely on a loose leash, greeting a dog
and handler while walking, greeting a stranger, being still while a
stranger examines him, Sit, Stay, Come and more. The class is "taught
to the test" so not appropriate for aggressive dogs. There is a link to
more information on my classes page
Intermediate ObedienceIntermediate Obedience is for dogs
over 8 months old who know how to Sit, Down, Stay. We will work with
how to greet people and dogs while out for walks, in your hoome and in
crowds. We will begin offleash obedience and will work on Leave It and
long Stays and Heel. There is no offleash play in this class.
Advanced Obedience A great, challenging class for dogs who have
experience with Sit, Stand, Down, Stay, Heel, Front and Finish. We will
be working on improving cooperation by using contests and tricks and do
some Rally Obedience! Fun class, no offleash play.
